EcoDistricts:

Neighborhoods for the Future

With the majority of the world’s people now living in cities, HOW we live in cities is both one of the greatest opportunities and one of the greatest challenges of our time. EcoDistricts may hold the key toward unlocking rapid progress in a manageable scale.

EcoDistricts is a community-driven model for creating the neighborhoods of the future- resilient, vibrant, resource efficient and just. They tie together public and private stakeholders to create more livable vibrant neighborhoods.

“International bodies, national governments, and even cities move at too glacial a pace to keep up with the latest innovations. But small groups in neighborhoods can start transforming where they live without outside help. It might be the future of sustainable urban planning.” (Boyd Cohen, In The Future, We Will All Live In Ecodistricts)

Last month, San Diego was represented with eight other cities from around the country at a three-day incubator held in Portland, OR to showcase best practices and collaborate on EcoDistrict projects.

Come join us on July 25th where we will host an expert panel to discuss the EcoDistricts framework and our local EcoDistrict initiatives.
