Qualcomm Site Redevelopment:

Whose Land Is This?

Multiple Experts Weigh In!

As Woody Guthrie wrote in his seminal song, “This land is your land, this land is my land … this land was made for you and me,” San Diegans deserve a transparent public process to determine the best plan for redeveloping the publicly owned Qualcomm Stadium site in Mission Valley.

This is a unique opportunity, involving the long-term future of the largest piece of developable public land in the city. Rather than seizing the first opportunity presented to them, city leaders need to hear from the public about what uses of the site best meet the needs of Mission Valley, the city and region as a whole, and how any decision should be made.

Several distinct perspectives will be explored during our March Breakfast Dialogue.  We'll discuss the pros and cons of various approaches to this sensitive, crucial process, including such alternatives as an appointed task force, facilitated community meetings, an RFPs or RFQ, and more.
