Our Regional Economy & Commerce
C-3 will share observations of what is coming to San Diego's regional economy. Take part in a discussion about the vision and opportunities in some of our more dynamic and exciting sectors of commerce. Kelly Cunningham of National University and former chief economist to the Regional Chamber of Commerce, will set the stage on where San Diego's economy is today and trending for the near future.
Mary Walshok, Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Extended Studies at UCSD and author most recently of "Invention and Reinvention: The Evolution of San Diego's Innovation Economy", will discuss our place "Inside Innovation: Phones, Drones and Genomes".
Kyra Greene, Research and Policy Analyst at the Center on Policy Initiatives and former Assistant Professor of Sociology at SDSU will address the opportunities and challenges in achieving economic and racial justice in our future economy.
Vicki Smith, with Qualcomm Life, will detail what Qualcomm is doing to move the needle in the constantly changing health care sector through the use of technology with an ultimate goal of reducing costs and improving patient outcomes.
Michael Gardiner, food writer for San Diego City Beat, will tell us what is trending in and trending out in our regions bi-national place in the food world.
